Discover Ferragudo

The 6km Trail of Headlands is a rugged yet beautiful walk that takes you up and down sharply angled little valleys and prominent headlands that capture some of the most breathtaking views in the western side of the Algarve. Huge sinkholes, echoing sea caverns, and a stretch of remote beaches with cyan-colored waves can all be found here.

You can go on foot or by car from Casa Jóia to Praia do Molhe for this hike along beautiful rock cliffs along the coastline, past the lighthouse “Farol da Ponta do Altar” and the sink holes carved by the sea. Proceed via breathtaking rocky formations and the iconic “Torre de Lapa” observation tower, admiring numerous serene coves and beaches before arriving into Carvoeiro

The trek follows the tops of carved coastal cliffs with gorgeous shades of yellow and ochre. Remarkably, the granite layers’ hues shift throughout the day as the sun’s rays impart hues that range from vivid orange to deepened copper. If you don’t feel like walking back, you can take an Uber to Casa Jóia.
