With its breathtaking views, gorgeous coves, breathtaking geology, and breathtaking sunsets, the Seven Hanging Valleys Trail is not to be missed—and yes, it’s on our doorstep! This stunning track leads you through some of the Algarve’s most remarkable natural beauties, so it’s easy to get enthused about it. Many people rank this 6-kilometer walk as one of the best in all of Europe because of its stunning views. It extends eastward from Praia do Vale Centeanes in Carvoeiro to Praia da Marinha, which is considered by many to be one of Europe’s most stunning beaches.

Along with a series of noteworthy stops at the Alfanzina lighthouse, Benagil and Carvalho beaches, this meandering walk offers breathtaking views of the rocky coast, limestone cliffs, charming beaches and natural caves. Along the route, you come across a number of unexpected gems, including vast sinkholes where you can hear the sound of the ocean crashing below, quiet coves, deep valleys, and wooded areas.

The hike begins at Vale de Centeanes beach, where you may drive or take an Uber. There is also a parking lot nearby. Actually, there are other parking lots scattered along the trail, as well as a picnic facility situated just east of the Alfanzina lighthouse, if you’d like to cut your trek short.  The majority of tourists will be able to negotiate this excellent track without a guide. Enjoy yourselves!
