Sports and Activities in the Algarve

The climate in the Algarve makes it possible for players to practise almost every day of the year. In the nation, tennis is arguably the third most popular sport.

Carvoeiro Clube de Ténis

Originally established in the 1980s as a tennis club, this venerable sporting organisation has a long history. It has eight Australian Blue Hard courts (five of which are lit at night), two artificial grass courts, four floodlit padel courts, and a fully functional gym. It also has a pool, a wellness and treatments centre, and two studios with a fantastic year-round schedule that includes classes in Pilates, yoga, aerobics, and dance.

The club takes great pleasure in organising several social and federated Padel and Tennis tournaments throughout the year, in addition to fun club activities and events that correspond with the changing of the seasons. Whether you are an experienced professional or a total beginner, the Club’s expert, amiable, multilingual coaches offer great training for all skill levels.

Clube Ténis e Padel de Portimão

Situated in the heart of Portimão, this vibrant and prosperous tennis club in the Algarve boasts eight covered padel courts, five hard courts, and a first-rate tennis school. Every court has floodlights. Popular and well-respected is the restaurant and bar located on the club grounds.  Non-members can rent the court and equipment.

Over the years, the club has produced a number of national champions and has held a number of tournaments, some of which have lucrative prize money and count towards ITF rankings.  There is plenty of parking close to the club, making it conveniently accessible.
